Overnight Attack
Toronto police have arrested two people and are looking for a third suspect after a man was tied up in a home near Pape and Mortimer Aves.
A woman who’d been living in the residence and another man were taken into custody by police Tuesday morning. The victim had apparently been tied up for 14 hours with an extension cord. He managed to call police at about 1am after the two suspects reportedly fell asleep.
Alleged Abduction
More details have been released by York police in the apparent abduction and robbery of a woman overnight. After an hour-long search, cops located the woman at about 5am Tuesday at the Holiday Inn near Steeles Ave. East and Woodbine Ave.
Officers said an hour earlier three men abducted the woman as she returned to her Aldergrove Dr. residence, near Brimley and Steeles. They allegedly drove her to various ATM machines, forced her to make withdrawals, and took her jewellery. They then dropped her off at the hotel.
The victim suffered minor cuts to the face but was otherwise fine. Police haven’t made any arrests yet.
Pedestrian Struck
Officers are in the initial stages of an investigation after a pedestrian was hit near Finch Ave. and Don Mills Rd. Police say a man was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with what they described as non-life threatening injuries. Finch west of Don Mills to Trudy Rd. was closed off as investigators probed what happened.
Apartment Stabbing
A woman has been charged with assault after a stabbing at a west end apartment complex. A man in his twenties was taken to hospital after being knifed in the torso near Wilson Ave. and Keele St. His injuries were described as serious but non-life threatening. The suspect, also in her twenties, faces a count of assault with a weapon.
