He’s 27.
She’s only two.
They may be together somewhere in the city.
And police are desperate to find them both.
Toronto cops have put out an A.P.B. for a two-year-old girl who is believed to have been abducted by her own father.
They’ve issued an arrest warrant for Jean Paul Mutombo, after he allegedly kidnapped the youngster from her mother’s Don Mills and Finch area residence.
Mutombo was last seen at the address with little Lataliah Galloway sometime between 2pm and 3:30pm Tuesday afternoon. But they don’t know where either one is now, and the child’s mother believes the suspect may try to take the child out of the city, possibly to Montreal or the U.S.
For now, though, cops suspect he hasn’t made good his escape and they believe he could be hiding in either North York or the northwest part of Scarborough.
Staff Sgt. Jim Farrell told CityNews.ca the suspect and the child’s mother had been involved in a relationship that ended in 2004 and since then he’d been seeing his daughter on an “irregular basis.”
‘There is no family court order in effect at this time,” Farrell said.
Authorities don’t believe the youngster is in immediate danger – that’s why an Amber Alert wasn’t issued – but are concerned for her safety and are hoping you can help them track down the pair.
Farrell said the little girl was last seen wearing multi-coloured army-style pants, a blue-orange shirt with a picture of a little girl on the front, a blue jacket with flowers and fur on the hood and white Adidas running shoes.
The suspect is described as:
- 6′,
- 169lbs. – 180lbs., with a thin build,
- brown eyes
- black hair
