Just under a month after officially entering the city’s mayoral race Rob Ford is in second place for support among decided voters.
A recent poll published in the Toronto Star shows the frugal and outspoken city councillor is catching up to the current front-runner, former provincial cabinet minister George Smitherman.
The change on the leader board has apparently come to the detriment of former federal Liberal administrator Rocco Rossi.
The Toronto Star-Angus Reid poll of 413 Torontonians shows Smitherman leads with 34 per cent support, followed by Ford at 27 per cent. Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone holds 14 per cent support, followed by Rossi at 13 per cent, Sarah Thomson at seven per cent and Giorgio Mammoliti at three per cent.
Another key figure in the study — 51 per cent of people polled were undecided.
