Beloved Toronto Street Performer Dying Of Cancer Holds Living Wake As Last Performance

Dan Cole is 59 years old and dying of lung cancer. But rather than wallow when confronted with his last days, he’s planning his last show, a living wake.
“I really just want to celebrate my life with my friends and family,” he said.
Cole’s known as the Busker of The Beaches and for the last 20 years he drew crowds to the same spot at the foot of Lee.
He’s also worked around the world, on cruise ships and entertaining UN peacekeepers. He’s been an actor, comedian, magician and juggler. And even now, in a lot of pain, the consummate performer is finding a way to go forth with his trademark act.
