A 22-year-old male student is in hospital after a stabbing at the shared campus of Durham College and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Oshawa.
Emergency crews were called to a coffee shop on campus at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said the stabbing happened when a dispute between two males escalated.
The UOIT student was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspect then fled the area.
The school took to Twitter to ask that people “remain calm” and tell them that “all is in order.”
The suspect is described as having brown skin and a medium build, and around five-foot eight-inches tall. He was last seen wearing dark-coloured pants, a button-up dress shirt and carrying a backpack.
So far, no arrests have been made.
