Two drivers seriously injured in wrong-way crash on QEW

Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a head-on crash on the Queen Elizabeth Way.
Provincial police say the crash occurred in the Fort Erie bound lanes of the QEW at North Shore Boulevard East in Burlington after one vehicle was going the wrong-way on the highway.
“Both drivers taken to hospital with serious injuries,” police tweeted. “Alcohol consumption is being investigated as a contributing factor in this crash.”
Photos published to Twitter by police show two vehicles with severe front-end damage and debris strewn all across the highway.
