Eviction notices for businesses along Evergreen Line route

PORT MOODY (NEWS1130) – Construction hasn’t even started. In fact, the funding isn’t even in place yet.  And now businesses in Port Moody are already being given the boot to make way for the Evergreen Line.  Some merchants clearly aren’t pleased with being forced to move.

Among some of the first closures is EBI Cruiser Parts, located on Moray Street in Port Moody.  It will be closing its doors later this month. The owner says he’s still negotiating with the provincial government for compensation.

But not all businesses are rushing to move out. The owner of MacRitchie Automotive Specialties tells the Vancouver Sun his landlord hasn’t even sold the property yet.

The proposed rapid transit line, which would run through the Tri-Cities, has been in limbo for years mainly because TransLink has not come up with its share of the funds.
