Dawn Black ratified as BC NDP interim leader

BURNABY (NEWS1130) – It was more of a rubber stamp, but the NDP Provincial Council has ratified Dawn Black as interim leader ahead of the leadership vote in mid-April.

The Council says it unanimously endorsed Black because of her record of service.

In a press release, Provincial NDP President Moe Sihota says this about Black, “With her deep roots within the party, she’s the right choice to lead the party and the caucus before the new leader takes on.”

NDP MLAs unanimously recommended Black yesterday. She served three terms as an NDP Member of Parliament before being elected MLA for New Westminster two years ago.
