Katie Couric says Oprah inspired new daytime show

NEW YORK – Katie Couric says Oprah has been the inspiration for her new daytime show on ABC.
Stating no one can ever fill Oprah’s shoes, Couric wants to mix features Winfrey did with things done on the ‘Today’ show.
Katie said she is better with interacting and talking to people and doing interviews that require some empathy, something which cannot be done in structured format, objective Evening News casts.
Couric’s show is set debut in September 2012.
