BC Lions make six more cuts

KAMLOOPS (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions have cut six players and released one more in time for their CFL pre-season opener in Calgary on Wednesday. 

Non-import running back Jerome Messam was the player suspended by the team.  “In the best interest of the BC Lions Football Club and Jerome Messam, he has been placed on our suspended list while he works through some personal matters,” said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono.

The Lions released import receivers Brandon Thompkins, Calvin Simon and Marc Ison along with running back Keegan Herring, defensive back Jasper Faulk and linebacker Tyrell Graham.  Buono’s  roster is down to 62 players.  The team will take 55 to Calgary for Wednesday’s game.
