GO bus drivers reach tentative deal

A strike by GO bus drivers set for Monday morning has been averted.

GO spokesperson Vasie Papadopoulos told 680News in a statement, “we are pleased that we have reached a tentative agreement with Amalgamated Transit Union local 1587.”

Other than that, the company has declined any comment until the agreement goes to ratification.

That is expected to happen this week.

The tentative deal was reached Sunday evening.

About 1,500 workers were in a position to walk off the job, including GO bus drivers, technicians and service staff.
