Some Toronto hospitals contemplate posting ER wait times online

TORONTO, Ont. – Imagine knowing exactly how long you’ll have to wait in the emergency room before seeing a doctor.

Some Toronto hospitals are now apparently thinking about implementing the move after a hospital in Kitchener, Ont., has already started posting “real time” ER wait times on its website.

St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener has became the first in Ontario to put wait times on its website, including information like how many people are waiting and the estimated time to see a doctor or nurse practitioner.

St. Michael’s Hospital is one of the hospitals in Toronto contemplating the move.
