Certain ground beef products sold at Mississauga store may contain E. coli

TORONTO, Ont. – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people not to eat certain ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli.

The affected products — regular ground beef and lean ground beef lean — were sold in plastic bags of varying weight on May 31, 2012, from the Kabul Farms store located at 255 Dundas St. W. in Mississauga, Ont.

The packages list a sticker with the product name, the store’s name and the price.

Kabul Farms has voluntarily recalled the affected products from the marketplace.

Consumers are advised to contact the retailer if you are unsure as to whether you have the affected beef products.

There are no reports of anyone getting sick from eating the products.

Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but consumption of food contaminated with this bacteria my cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.
