Police in Peel Region are searching for a 29-year-old man, who is wanted for murder, after a woman was found dead inside a Brampton home.

Officers were called to a residence at Aloma Crescent and Avondale Boulevard near Bramalea Road just before 6 a.m. on Friday.

When they arrived, police found a woman’s body inside the home.

Const. Jennifer Dagg says the homicide unit has taken carriage of the investigation after the female victim was found with obvious signs of trauma.

“We do not have anyone in custody. However, we do believe it was an isolated incident,” Const. Dagg said earlier in the day. “If you were in the area at the time or after the incident, please contact us.”

A short time later, police released details of a suspect investigators believe was involved in the incident. Police say Linval Alfonso Ritchie, from Brampton, was in a relationship with the victim.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.

According to investigators, Ritchie is known to be associated with two vehicles:

  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, red, four-door vehicle with Ontario licence plate CMLT 713
  • 2006 Audi NAQ, grey, four door with Ontario licence plate CLJJ 458
