Cyclist seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Etobicoke

A cyclist has serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Etobicoke early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the area of Kipling and Evans avenues near The Queensway just after 6:30 a.m.

Police say a man in his 60s or 70s was found lying on the ground.

Paramedics initially said they were assessing two people at the scene, one with serious injuries and another with minor injuries. They later said that a male was sent to a trauma centre with serious injuries. It is not clear if his injuries are life-threatening.

The driver remained on the scene.
