Armed teen, 17, threatened man during argument in Mississauga: police

Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old after the teen was allegedly involved in an argument with another man during which he threatened the victim with a firearm.

Officers were called to a residence in the Darcel Avenue and Morning Star Drive area in Mississauga just before 2 p.m. on Thursday.

It’s alleged that a 39-year-old man from Mississauga was involved in a verbal argument with a young person who allegedly brandished a firearm. The teenager was arrested a short time later.

Police executed a search warrant at the residence and located a Glock 9mm handgun.

The 17-year-old is facing several firearm-related offences, including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a prohibited device knowing not the holder of a license.

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared in court.

Peel Regional Police said the youth was out on a release order for similar firearm-related offences at the time of the incident.

The accused was not identified by means of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
