3 incidents of shots fired reported in Scarborough overnight: police

Toronto police are investigating after three different incidents of gunfire being reported in Scarborough on Wednesday night, all within an hour of each other.

The first incident occurred just before 11 p.m. when authorities were called to the Scarborough Golf Club Road and Jeremiah Lane area near Kingston Road for reports of gunshots.

Police arrived at the scene and confirmed that residences in the area had been hit and damaged by gunfire. No physical injuries were reported.

A suspect or suspects fled in a vehicle. No description was provided. The investigation is ongoing.

About 30 minutes later, gunshots were heard in the area of Finch Avenue and Middlefield roads. Police say damage to a business was found, and originally said no injuries were reported.

It was later determined the owner of the business, a man in his 40s, was struck by gunfire and suffered minor injuries.

Finally, just before 11:45 p.m., evidence of gunfire was found near Birchmount Road and Bertrand Avenue after police were called for reports of a shooting.

The suspects involved fled the scene on foot, police say. No injuries were reported.

No suspect descriptions have been released in any of the three shootings.
