Man, 62, found fatally shot in Mississauga commercial building, suspect in custody

A suspect is in custody after a 62-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a commercial building in Mississauga on Monday morning, Peel Regional Police (PRP) confirm.
Const. Laurie McCann said emergency crews were called to the business in the Kennedy Road and Matheson Boulevard area at around 8:34 a.m. for reports of an unresponsive person.
Crews found the victim in the building with multiple gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were taken, but he was later declared dead at the scene.
McCann said officers have a suspect, a man in his 70s, in custody. No charges have been announced at this point.
“I have no information on what the cause of this shooting was,” McCann said. “It’s not a random shooting; this is a targeted shooting.”
McCann said a firearm has been recovered. The investigation remains ongoing.
