Raptors Suffer Fifth Straight Loss In Denver

Despite an impressive effort by Chris Bosh who sank 31 points and snatched nine rebounds, Denver beat Toronto 117-109. The Raptors haven’t been able to beat Denver in their last five meetings.

T.J. Ford also had a good night finishing with 26 points and a career-high 18 assists for Toronto – 13 of them by half-time – but that was overshadowed by Denver star Carmelo Anthony who’s on a roll, scoring 34 points Saturday – his sixth straight game of 30 or more points.

“Once again, when it’s time for us to make a big play, we come up short,” Ford said. “When someone makes a run in the fourth quarter, we have to keep our composure.”

Anthony was in good company with six of his teammates racking up points in the double digits.

The Raptors managed to take a one-point lead in the final quarter, but Anthony and Earl Boykins hit back-to-back three-pointers. Toronto managed to trim Denver’s 12-point lead near the end of the final frame to 113-109, but a lay-up by Eduardo Najera sealed the deal for the Nuggets.
