Roy Halladay was in fine form on Tuesday night, powering a 4-1 Blue Jays win over the Los Angeles Angels with a precision pitching performance.
The victory was Toronto’s 10th in 12 games at Rogers Centre, where they continue to thrive.
Halladay gave up just five hits in his major league-leading fifth complete game. He’s now 10-1 at home.
“He’s a perfectionist,” said Jays manager John Gibbons of Halladay. “He’s got a great arm but it’s the little things that make him as great as he is, his intensity, his preparation.”
The Jays scored all their runs in the first inning, a disastrous frame for Angels pitcher Joe Saunders. L.A. had won three straight and six of their last seven, but looked remarkably sloppy against the blue birds.
