Karate, hockey, soccer, guitar, swimming – the list is endless and as a parent trying to get your kid to all these events you may be pulling your hair out.
Parenting coach Terry Carson is busier than ever at this time of year and says parents feel as much, if not more, stress than their kids.
“That’s why a lot of parents use me as a coach, because they feel the stress. They feel the anxiety mounting and they don’t know how to handle it,” says Carson . “Scale it back to two activities that your child really likes and work it down to one.”
She also suggests practicing the oxygen mask technique, which boils down to making sure you’re able to help your kids.
“Practice the oxygen mask technique. One of the first things they tell you if you’re traveling with children is, should the masks come down, put it on yourself first, because when you’re able to breathe, you can help your children,” states Carson. “Same thing at home.”
