Cops Seek More Info On Man Facing Child Porn Charges

A man is believed to be involved with local mosques and Turkish community centres is the focus of a police investigation involving child pornography. Cops arrested 44-year-old Ayad Mejid on Tuesday and charged him with accessing and possessing child pornography.
But they fear his other pastimes may have brought the Brampton resident into close contact with children and officers are trying to find out if there’s anything else they need to know about his activities. Mejid is known to have volunteered at several religious houses of worship in Mississauga and Toronto where kids might be present. And he also taught at a number of Islamic schools in the GTA after coming here from Montreal.
