Starting Monday, TTC passholders who weren’t able to use transit during the sudden walkout by 9,000 transit employees nearly two weeks ago will be able to pick up their refund.
From May 5 to 30, customers can hand in their passes to any collector booth or at the MDP Office at 1900 Yonge St. to receive their money back. The MDP Office is open from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Riders who wish to claim a federal tax credit must sign the back of the pass and make a photocopy of the front and back before turning it in. Anyone audited for a transit tax credit claim can send a signed photocopy of the April TTC pass to the Canada Revenue Agency.
The TTC isn’t reimbursing riders who paid by cash, ticket or token on April 25.
City councillors have put off a decision over whether the TTC should be deemed an essential service until September.
