Remember Thin Lizzy?
They once famously sang “The Boys Are Back In Town,” but if they were in Toronto Sunday it would almost certainly be the Bills they were singing about.
Buffalo ‘s NFL franchise is taking to the Rogers Centre turf on Dec. 7, but before it does fans from both sides of the border will be taking part in perhaps the holiest of football traditions – the tailgate party.
The official Bud bash takes place Sunday between 11am-4pm at Front and Spadina and will incorporate many of the tailgate standards – beer and food – as well as some Toronto twists.
“Well there’s going to be lots of great stuff going on … we have a thousand-square feet of grill,” boasts Bud Girl Jessica. “Pulled -pork sandwiches, barbecued ribs, chili.”
Plus some very special giveaways.
“If you come down you get to win tickets to the game, we’re gonna give away three sets of tickets,” promises Bud Girl Nicole.
Unfortunately for the young fans, you’ve got to be 19 to enter that particular contest.
But the 3,500-person public tailgate – there’s also a 5,500-person VIP area – is free admission and will feature music and games.
And after that?
Game on.
