“Jesus Christ” and screaming came out of the mouths of the pilot and first officer moments before the plane crash on Feb. 12 that ended the lives of 49 passengers near Buffalo airport. It’s one of the key pieces of information released Tuesday.
The final panicked pronouncement was made by Captain Marvin Renslow, main pilot of the flight, who apparently was not quite up to speed with the latest technology that the plane used. A training instructor stated that Renslow had difficulties learning the Dash 8’s flight management system.
The records were released by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board. The papers also indicated that Renslow and his first officer Rebecca Shaw were fearful of navigating in icy weather.
All those on board died and one homeowner on the ground perished when then craft came down in a Western New York suburb on approach for a landing.
