Man Dead In Mississauga Collision

One man is dead and another is in hospital after a fiery crash Friday night in Mississauga.

The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Cawthra Rd. and Bloor St.around 7:15pm.

Police say that a black Volvo and a green Toyota Camry collided and both vehicles immediately burst into flames.

The driver of the Volvo suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The man behind the wheel of the Camry, 51-year-old Randy Padmore, died at the scene.

The force of the impact caused considerable damage to a third vehicle, and signage and a utility pole in the immediate area were also destroyed.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash and that one of the drivers ran a red light. But no charges have been laid yet.

The intersection was closed for several hours while Peel Police investigated the crash.
