VANCOUVER – Days after 20 murder charges against serial killer Robert Pickton were stayed, the evidence from the trial has slowly begun to surface.
For the first time, Saturday, the public can see and hear the voice of the Vancouver pig farmer in a 2002 jail cell video.
The video was considered key evidence from the trial. Speaking with an undercover police officer, posing as his cell-mate, Pickton made some grisly confessions.
“I was gonna do one more, make it an even fifty,” Pickton said. “I made my own grave by being sloppy.”
Wearing a white shirt, black sweat pants, and lying down on a mattress Pickton also discussed his relationships with his parents, his brother and a women he said he was engaged to named Connie Anderson.
The conversations also revealed details about a victim who escaped Pickton. After stabbing the women, Pickton was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault and released on $2,000 bail.
The farmer has been convicted of killing six women, Sereena Abotsway, Marnie Frey, Andrea Joesbury, Georgina Papin, Mona Wilson and Brenda Wolfe.
He will serve life in prison.
