SIU Investigating After Man Fatally Shot

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a man was fatally shot by police officers at 200 Dufferin Street, just north of the Dufferin Gate Saturday night.
Police were called to the scene, where one of the officers was stabbed during the altercation and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered serious.
The victim is a 28-year-old man who suffered at least one gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
“The Lord Dufferin” apartment building is located at Dufferin and Liberty Street, on the edge of the tony media and technology neighborhood, Liberty Village.
Parkdale has been the scene of a number of disturbing and violent incidents this fall, including a school yard shooting less than a kilometre away last month.
