Van Stolen With Baby Inside

A van with a baby inside it was reported stolen in front of a convenience store in the Royal York and Evans Avenue area on Monday night.
It was later found abandoned behind the House Of Lancaster strip club near Royal York and The Queensway.
The baby, believed to be an 18-month-old girl, was safe, still strapped inside her child seat. She has since been reunited with her parents.
“An unknown person used a phone booth to call and say there was a child in a vehicle behind the building, so we were able to locate the child within a matter of a minute or so of the theft,” said Sgt., Doug MacDonald.
There’s no word yet on any arrests or charges. An investigation is ongoing.
