CHICAGO, Ill. – A plastic surgeon from Chicago is now offering “adjustable” breast implants, by placing a port under the patient’s skin during surgery.
Dr. Jeffrey Weinzweig said 34 per cent of women in the U.S. who undergo a second breast surgery are simply looking to change the size of their implants.
So how does the new prosthesis work?
Three months following the operation, the patient returns to the surgeon’s office, and through the dime-sized port, the surgeon adds saline and adjusts the size as the patient watches.
Once the patient is satisfied with the size of her breasts, the port is removed.
