The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired the rights for goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for forward Matt Clackson, a 3rd round draft choice in 2012 and a conditional draft choice.
Bryzgalov, 30, appeared in 68 games for the Coyotes last season. In four seasons with the Coyotes he posted a 36-20-10 record, with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage while recording seven shutouts.
He was a runner-up for the Vezina Trophy following the 2009-10 season after being acquired off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.
Bryzgalov was a member of the Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup championship squad along with current Flyers defensemen Chris Pronger and Sean O’Donnell.
