1. What’s the memorable news story you’ve covered?
Paul Cook and I were anchoring on 680News the morning of 9-11. It was surreal. I felt for the first time that I was unable to explain to our radio audience what was happening because we really didn’t understand what was going on.
2. What are your hobbies?
I love kayaking, horseback riding and putzing in my garden.
3. What’s the favourite place (country, city) you’ve visited and why?
Our cottage on Georgian Bay — I love the sound of the wind in the pines and on the water.
4. Do you drink coffee or tea?
Mornings — coffee: Starbucks’ breakfast blend!
5. Do you have children?
Two wonderful daughters among the most courageous and wisest women I know.
6. Do you have pets?
Two dogs and a horse — the horse doesn’t live with us.
7. How long have you been with 680News/Rogers?
Joined 680News just after it went on the air in 1993.
8. Where were you born?
Toronto, but grew up on a farm in Pickering.
9. Which living person do you most admire?
My aunt Higgie — the most positive person I know. She is 91, lives in her own home, looks after her husband, and never has a negative word to say about anyone or anything.
10. What’s your motto?
Don’t get in the way of other people’s desire to be miserable (if they want to be negative, you can’t stop them).
