The Toronto Blue Jays are shopping for another pitcher for their rotation and have had dialogue with the Chicago White Sox regarding Gavin Floyd since the start of spring training, according to Jon Paul Morosi of Foxsports.com.

On Saturday it was reported that Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos scouted Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton in person.

As for Floyd, the 29-year-old right-hander posted a 4.37 ERA and 1.163 WHIP in 192.2 innings in 2011 while averaging 7.0 strikeouts per nine innings. Has he has pitched at least 187 innings in each of the past four seasons.

He is scheduled to earn $7 million in 2011 with a $9.5 million club option for 2013.
