Record-breaking temperatures broke the 680News weather guarantee.
After missing the weather guarantee on Sunday, we gave away the jackpot of $11,900. 680News Insider Club member Jelena Lucic was the lucky winner.
When we called Jelena’s home, her father told 680News his daughter — who is a high school teacher at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute — is away on a March Break school trip in Europe.
As soon as Jelena got the message, she called 680News to say she’s thrilled to have won the jackpot.
“I am so happy,” Jelena exclaimed. “It’s a beautiful day.”
The forecasted high was 12 C, but we reached 17.7 C — shattering a 35-year-old weather record.
CityNews meteorologist Harold Hosein said we could break even more records this week.
“By the middle of the week, we should into the high teens and some areas of southwestern Ontario may even climb into the low 20s,” Hosein said.
