TORONTO – The elevator workers’ union and its employer are set to return to the bargaining table, Wednesday.
Workers with the International Union of Elevator Constructors have been off the job across Ontario since May 1.
The union is in talks with the National Elevator and Escalator Association, which represents Canadian elevator companies.
Elevator workers who service condominiums and homes under construction were forced back to work on June 14 under a rarely used labour law enacted under the former premier Mike Harris’ government.
