Subway service resumes on Bloor-Danforth line after overnight repairs

Regular subway service resumed Thursday morning on Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) after overnight tunnel repairs.

However, the TTC warns to “expect longer than normal travel times” westbound from St. George to Keele stations due to ongoing track work.

Service was shut down between Ossington and Keele stations at 10 p.m. on Wednesday in order to make permanent repairs after debris at Dundas West Station caused commuter chaos. Shuttle buses were running.

On Tuesday, subway service was suspended both ways between Ossington and Keele stations during morning rush hour and lasted until around 3 p.m.

Metrolinx confirmed that construction work at the new GO station on Dundas West led to debris on the tracks which the TTC says got through a hole in the tunnel.

Normal subway service is scheduled to start up again at 6 a.m. Thursday.

More repairs are planned for Thursday evening during normal maintenance hours.

The TTC says the pile that punctured the tunnel will be removed next week.

Metrolinx continues to investigate the incident.
