VELD issues partial refund after weather forced Day 2 cancellation

Those who battled through extreme weather on Saturday only to have their time at the VELD Music Festival cut short are now being offered a partial refund.

Dangerous conditions — including heavy rain, high winds and hail — forced organizers to evacuate the EDM festival site at Downsview Park, only a few hours into the second day of the two-day event.

VELD tweeted on Wednesday that it would be offering a 40 per cent refund to everyone who purchased tickets directly from Ticketmaster.ca and authorized points of sale.

Organizers said they stand by their decision to cancel the event and that safety was their top priority.

Hardwell and Above & Beyond were among the DJs scheduled to perform on the second day of VELD. Deadmau5 and A$AP Rocky were among the acts on day one.
