Parking officer assaulted in North York

By The Canadian Press

A 28-year-old Toronto man has been charged with allegedly assaulting a city parking enforcement officer.

Police say around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the officer was placing a parking ticket on a car windshield on Havenbrook Boulevard, near Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East, when he was approached by the car’s owner.

Police allege the owner became verbally abusive and demanded that the officer remove the ticket, then physically assaulted him when he tried to walk away.

Police found the man at a home nearby.

They have charged Theodore Green with assaulting a peace officer.
