Man, 33, dies after Kennedy and Progress shooting

A 33-year-old man has succumbed to his injuries following a shooting in the city’s east end early Thursday morning.

Toronto police say they were called to an apartment building on Glamorgan Avenue, near Kennedy Road and Progress Avenue, around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

A man was found in the lobby suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police have identified the victim as Anthony Soares.

They say Soares got out of a car and walked into the lobby of the building where he was approached by two suspects armed with handguns and was shot at close range.

Police do not have any suspect descriptions at this time or a motive for the shooting
