A 41-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a Sea-Doo collision on Humber Bay Saturday morning.
Police say they received several calls just after 10 a.m. for reports of a collision between two Sea-Doos in the waters off the shores of Humber Bay Park.
“There were two Sea-Doos doing circles together, jumping each others wake,” said Paul Tetley, who was cycling in the area when the collision occurred.
“Soon as I got across the bridge, bang! I turned around and came back and they were both in the water.”
Tetley said at least one person swam out to the scene as he was calling 911 while a couple of kayakers also attempted to help the pair.
The Marine Unit was able to remove the two operators from the water and according to eyewitnesses, began chest compressions on one of them.
Paramedics told CityNews the 41-year-old man was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said the second Sea-Doo operator, a 32-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
