A homicide investigation has been initiated by York Regional Police following a suspicious house fire in the Town of Aurora early Saturday morning.
Around 1 a.m. police and fire were called to a house fire at 103 Edward Street.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found a home fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters got the fire under control at around 2 a.m. and when investigators entered the residence, they found the body of a deceased adult.
The coroner has deemed the death suspicious and the homicide squad has taken over the investigation.
Police said they don’t know the identity of the deceased person or the cause of death.
The fire marshall is on the scene and conducting an investigation, police said.
