Driver caught going 200km/h on QEW in St. Catharines

A 37-year-old man from the United States has been charged after he was clocked driving 200 kilometres an hour on the QEW in St. Catharines.

It happened on Sunday night.

OPP said the man’s Ford Mustang has been seized and his licence has also been suspended for seven days.

The man has been charged with street racing.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Kerry Schmidt is reminding drivers heading to cottage country to slow down.

He said about half of drivers charged with street racing in Tobermory are from the GTA.
