Man charged with killing wife at Mississauga home

Peel regional police have charged a man with killing his wife inside a Mississauga home on Tuesday morning.

Police say officers recieved a call from inside the residence on Galbraith Drive near Barwell Road at around 6:24 a.m.

Const. Kyle Villers said police located the victim, who was in her 50s, inside the home with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her husband, Stephen Kerelchuk, was taken into custody and has been charged with second-degree murder.

Villers said the couple’s teenage daughter was inside the home at the time, but wasn’t injured.

“This is an isolated domestic-related incient and as such we aren’t looking for anybody else,” he added.
