Riders who were on four Barrie GO trains are being asked to get tested after a passenger tested positive for a COVID-19 variant of concern.
The commuter rode on the 7:33 a.m. train from Rutherford Station to Union Station and the 5:05 p.m. from Union Station to Rutherford Station on Feb. 9. The person took the same trains on Feb. 10.
Metrolinx says there were 515 passengers in total on board all four trains.
The person was asymptomatic at the time of travel and wore a mask. They developed symptoms on Feb. 11 and tested positive shortly after. The variant of concern in question has not been identified.
York Region Public Health is recommending anyone on board any of those trains to get tested as soon as possible even if they do not have symptoms.
They are also asking passengers on those trains to monitor for symptoms until Feb. 24. If they experience symptoms, they are asked to immediately self-isolate.
