Suspect arrested, police identify victim in North York homicide

Toronto police have made an arrest after a woman was found gravely injured at a North York home on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to the Yorkdale Crescent and Lovilla Boulevard area just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to conduct a well-being check.

A woman was found in the basement with what police called a “suspicious” injury.

In a tweet police said life-saving measures were performed on the victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified the victim as 33-year-old Kim Gagne.

On Thursday, police arrested Bronson Lake, 32, of Toronto and he was charged with second-degree murder.

He will appear in court virtually on Friday.
