Woman dead, man in custody following North York assault

A woman is dead and a man is in custody following an incident at a North York home late Saturday night.
Police say they were called to a home in the area of Sheppard Avenue West and Jane Street around 10 p.m. following reports of an assault.
When police arrived they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was eventually pronounced dead on scene.
Police did not release any further details except that one man is in custody.
The homicide unit has been called in to investigate.
