Man seriously injured in Vaughan shooting

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after an early-morning shooting near the Vaughan border.

York Regional Police say they were called to Steeles Avenue West and Weston Road, near Black Creek, shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday for reports of a shooting.

A spokesperson tells CityNews one man was located with gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

No age of the victim or suspect description was made available.

It’s unclear if the man was in a vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
