Second teen arrested in fatal September shooting in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police have charged a second person in connection to a fatal shooting last month in Mississauga.

Police were called to Hull Street near Scarboro Street, just west of Airport Road, around 8 p.m. on September 17 following multiple reports of a disturbance and the sound of gunshots.

Three victims were located, two of which were suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to a trauma centre where a 21-year-old man from Brampton was pronounced dead. The other shooting victim was treated and released from hospital.

Investigators say this was the culmination of a series of incidents involving between 18 and 20 individuals that began around noon and continued throughout the day.

An 18-year-old from Mississauga, Jastaran Sandhu, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Police say a 16-year-old from Brampton was arrested on October 28 and has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and numerous firearm related offences.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the name of the 16-year-old cannot be released.

Investigators say they are still looking for any additional information related to this event, including surveillance or dashcam footage that may have captured the moments leading up to, and including, the shooting.
