Toronto police seek suspect in violent daylight purse snatching

Toronto police have released security images of a suspect sought in a violent daylight purse snatching.

Police say a woman was walking in the Danforth and Bowden avenues area on Tuesday, November 16 at around 12:50 p.m. when a man started following her.

The man struck the woman on the head from behind with an unknown object, then forcefully took her purse before fleeing northbound.

Police say the woman required medical treatment for head injuries.

The suspect is described as five foot nine, in his 50s, with a slim build and short grey hair.

He was wearing a dark blue jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.
