3 teens arrested, 56 charges laid following string of pharmacy robberies in Peel Region

Three teenagers are facing more than 50 charges following a string of pharmacy robberies across Peel Region in recent weeks.

Peel police say they prevented a robbery on June 9 in Mississauga after officers stopped a stolen vehicle around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Central Parkway East.

The three occupants inside the vehicle were arrested at the scene and it is alleged all three were wearing masks and clothing designed to hide their identity.

The suspects were driving a blue Toyota Corolla that police say was stolen from York Region on June 7. It’s believed the same suspects used the vehicle during a separate pharmacy robbery in Brampton on the same day it was stolen.

In addition to the incidents on June 7 and June 9, investigators believe the same group of suspects is responsible for pharmacy robberies in Peel Region that took place on May 24, June 1, and June 2.

Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy from Mississauga, a 16-year-old boy from Brampton, and a 17-year-old boy from Brampton.

The three teens are facing a total of 56 charges including multiple counts of robbery, use imitation firearm, and wear disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

All three appeared in court on June 10.
